Characteristics of Phraseology in Wprking Practice of Air Traffic Controller

Abstract
Aviation English learning and using is specific, different from daily English language. The decision of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to establish higher language proficiency requirements for pilots and air traffic controllers influenced the development of study programmes of aviation specialists (Мельниченко, 2010). In this article the analysis of the use of standard aviation phraseology in air traffic controller’s working practice is presented. The purpose is to show how important is standard phraseology in aviation English. One of the most substantial abilities of an air traffic controller is to know aviation English very well and to speak fluently. Radio communication is a part of aviation English. It is important to use standard phraseology in order to reach the comprehension in these ways of communication.
