This paper analyses the operation of inertial navigation measurement unit, creation and analysis of its model. The main principles that have to be taken into account while creating an aircraft navigation system are analysed. Furthemore, a computer with „ArduPilotMega“ inertial navigation unit is used. The operation of the model has been checked by comparing outcome data of the model and uses for the creation and analysis of the model. After the analysis of the theoretical and practical operation of inertial systems the main conclusions are presented.
