Abstract
The increasing amount of passengers and traffic flow does not always allow to reach efficiency of aviation systems employed by airspace users. Aircraft delays and their flight through non-optimal flight tracks are very frequent disturbances. Eurocontrol has estimated that aircraft fly about 40 km of additional distance in terminal airspace. The result is increased workload of air traffic control service and pilots, excessive fuel burn, emissions and noise levels. For these reasons, there is a considerable need to analyze air traffic control service efficiency and to investigate the methods, which could be used in nowadays and with predictable traffic growth preventing delays and would allow aircraft to fly following optimal flight routes.
